Class Story

Class Overview
Welcome to Cinderella class, taught by Laura Betson (teacher), Zara Hinchcliffe, Ellie Walker and Lydia Day (teaching assistants).
The children in Cinderella class all follow the Discovery pathway.
Each half term, our learning focuses on The Big Question, and we explore this through multi-sensory and engaging learning experiences using a Total Communication approach whilst also promoting the children’s independence throughout the school day. Children love to explore the engaging provision in our classroom and in our own outdoor area which is central to our learning. We love immersing ourselves in stories through sensory experiences.
Children’s wellbeing and regulation is embedded in our practise and children are taught a variety of ways to self- regulate and co-regulate and access a variety of interventions including sensory circuits and TACPAC. We are developing our communication through Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction.
We love to be active and spend time outdoors as well in our school community shared spaces such as soft play, the dark room and the sensory room and in the wider community visiting local places of interest, parks and shops.
