Class Story

Class Overview

We would like to send a warm welcome to our pupils and their parents and carers of Hansel & Gretel Class. The children will be working with Jodie (Teacher), Sophie (TA), Kim (TA) and Harriet (TA)
Hansel & Gretel Class is a child centred class and we follow the children’s interest to encourage them to explore the different learning experiences we offer. We enjoy exploring inside and outdoors throughout the day. We explore the seven areas of learning, which are: -

- Communication and Language

- Physical Development

- Personal, Social & Emotional Development

- Literacy

- Maths

- Understanding of the World

- Expressive Arts & Design

In Hansel & Gretel class we use a total communication approach using symbols, signing and verbal interaction to support our pupils. We encourage the children to be inquisitive and explore using their senses and through practical and focussed activities.

Outdoor Learning

We will have PE on a Thursday morning in the school hall.

This half term we will be continuing to develop our ball skills.

School will have a continued focus on ‘Outside Learning in all Weathers’ this year, with this in mind, please ensure that on each day your child has a suitable coat for the weather conditions
