Focusing on the 'whole child' and their individual needs

Whilst not an exhaustive list, below is a an overview of some of the therapies we offer according to the individual needs of the child:


Tacpac is a sensory communication resource using touch and music. Tacpac helps people with sensory impairment, developmental delay, complex learning difficulties, tactile defensiveness, and limited or pre verbal levels of communication.  Tacpac combines the sense of touch and music through social interaction. It  is delivered via an interaction between 2 people – a giver and a receiver. The session is structured and takes place in an emotionally safe environment, clear of other sensory interferences.

Intensive Interaction 

"Intensive Interaction is an approach designed to help people at early levels of development, people who have severe profound or complex learning difficulties and people who have autism.

Intensive Interaction works on early interaction abilities - how to enjoy being with other people - to relate, interact, know understand and practice communication routines.

Intensive Interaction develops the 'Fundamentals of Communication', attainments such as: use and understanding of eye contact, facial expressions, vocalisations leading to speech, taking turns in exchanges of conversation and the structure of conversation."

Attention Autism

Attention Autism is an intervention model designed by Gina Davies, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. It aims to develop natural and spontaneous communication through the use of visually based and highly motivating activities. Gina’s primary objective is that the sessions are fun and “offer an irresistible invitation to learn”!

Aims of Attention Autism

  1. To engage attention
  2. To improve joint attention
  3. To develop shared enjoyment in group activities
  4. To increase attention in adult-led activities
  5. To encourage spontaneous interaction in a natural group setting
  6. To increase non-verbal and verbal communication through commenting
  7. To build a wealth and depth of vocabulary
  8. To have fun!


 The aim of our physiotherapy sessions is to encourage positive and correct movement of normal body functions which are often brought about in some of the children at our school due to their specific needs and conditions.

Occupational Therapy

 The primary aim of OT is to maximise the child’s potential to participate in activities of everyday life by minimising the impact of their disability through the use of purposeful activity or modifying the environment to better support participation.
