Safeguarding Leads

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Safeguarding at St Giles is given the highest of priority in school. Every member of staff has statutory training and regular updates. Our school works under the guidance of Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership and liaises closely with a range of specialist and locality services to ensure the best and safest outcomes for our pupils. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is a senior member of staff and is part of the school's leadership team.

We promote a nurturing and open policy with our pupils and other stakeholders, so that everyone can talk openly about concerns at the earliest opportunity. If you have any questions or concerns regarding safeguarding then please telephone 01332 343039 and ask to speak with one of the following Safeguarding Leads:

If you need to share information outside of normal school hours, including during school holidays, please email: safeguarding@stgilesspencer.org.uk. This email address can be accessed by all the Safeguarding Leads and is monitored at least weekly during the school holidays.

Parents and carers who need to report any safeguarding concerns outside of school hours are advised to contact Derby City Children's Social Care team on 01332 641127 between 9am and 5pm, and 01332 956606 between 5pm and 9am. For Derbyshire County Council services, contact can be made to Starting Point on 01629 533190.
